Post in this section I e ”Career Builders ” for such type of quires related to job/education.
I am doing job in LAN environment what should i do to prepare CCNA and how I can make my future secure?

Well no worries most of network engineers start their career from LAN and it’s a good thing though because if your basics are strong, you know the basic LAN trouble shooting then you will be more confident, in LAN you will be familiar with Subnets/IPs , Proxy server, mail servers , a gateway router etc. But don’t need to be waste your time in LAN more then 6 to 8 months its enough in my opinion. After that pass CCNA ASAP and look for a job in your local ISP, Cisco Gold/Silver partners and side by side start to study CCXP.

Almost every country has some popular jobs sites so be sure you know these and you check on daily basis.

You can find your regional Cisco partners here = => www.cisco.com then click on ”partner central” then click on ”partner locator” then select your country and hit on ”Go”.

What is the difference between CCNA(640-802) and ICND1 and ICND2? Which exam should I do?

CCNA 640-802 is the complete CCNA paper(combination of ICND1 & 2) which have total cost of 150 US$ and if you feel that it is hard to pass for you or whatever the reason then you can give in a separate fashion I e ICND1 and then ICND2 and when you passed both exams then you will be awarded as CCNA certificate.

How often the Cisco updates their exam outlines?

Day by day new technologies are coming so whenever cisco feel that exam should be updated then they just subtract few chapters and add some new stuff and change the code so don’t b worry that you are preparing current curriculum and might be cisco suddenly change the exam. Regarding this matter Cisco have a policy that 6 month earlier (before the date of expiry date of an exam) they mentioned the new course outline so always check their official site for up-to-date info regarding this issue.

What are simlets, SIM etc and what is the exam scoring for each question and what are passing marks?

A Simlet is a single question containing few multiple choice questions. In which you have given access of 1 device or and by using specific command you have to answer the task.Sim means simulation, it is the single main lab in the exam, in which you have to perform a specific task assigned to you. Please note that in simlet and simulations only specific commands are allowed directly related to your task, so don’t think that these are real Cisco routers and switches and you can try all the possible commands on it which may help in your given task.

You can check at www.certay.com for latest simulation solutions.

Some questions in the exam have 0 marks and some have double marks. Be careful while doing simulation and simlets because these are the most important part of the CCNA exam, so if you failed in both and do all other questions correct then there is no surety that you can pass the exam btw the passing score is approx 850 out of 1000.

When and how I will receive my certificate?

When you will be passed your exam then you will be awarded a score sheet on which your cisco ID is also mentioned .Be keep in mind that this is your only identity on the world of cisco, in future when if you want to give a ccnp exam then you have to mentioned this while registration otherwise you will be in trouble. Anyhow when you passed CCNA after a day or 2days you will receive a mail for verification of your home address or where you want to receive your certificate via currier services. Cisco will send you a hard copy on that address and if you do not want hard copy then they can send you a printable soft copy. All is depend on you.

How I Can Perform CCNA Labs In Self Study

1stly if you have an institute which can permit you for practice Labs only (in some $) or you have any relation with CEO/teacher of that institute and he will give you access for only few hours per week then try it first bcz it is very cheap/helpful for you. I also used this way.

2ndly use the dynamips router simulator. It will give you 100% results as real router give you.

Go in cisco share and search with the “dynamips” keyword. You will find everything which you want. Also you will lots of cisco IOS in there.

3rdly CCNA Video mentor will be very helpful for you in preparation of Labs.

Fourthly there are also some other router simulators like boson, routersim etc you can practise on them for switching but be sure that they dont give 100% results.

Fifthly the companion CDRooms with sybex and cisco press books are available in my collection give me someday to search and upload.

Sixthly You can practice with too many commands on already preconfigured labs by using CCNA Flash Cards(already shared in cisco share section)

Note:- CCNP,CCSP and even CCIE flash cards also has been released.

When And How I Should Use CCNA Dumps

Please during your study period dont think about any dump. Leave all matters which are happening on sadikhov regarding dumps. At time of studying through books+video trainings+all Labs if you feel any confusion you ask us.but please i am again n again saying that if you read a CCNA book 1 time and then you open pass4sure and ask us that hey prob in Q# ** i cannot understand that why this is hapend? what is the correct answer etc? Please don’t do that, don’t waste ur time and our time also.Ask pass4sure or testinside team who made it unfortunately. If you are thinking on that point that you asked us all questions here which you couldnt solved by yourself and now you understand all questions of dumps and you are ready to hit the exam then it is 100% sure that you are totally wrong.

I know that it is very hard for some people who arrange the fee (150$) and they cannot afford to fail . 2ndly i also agree that when you 100% prepare/confident for exam then you can use it but here is the way of use it

a) Before you hit the exam Approx 1 week earlier you can 1st try testking because it have also explanations for every question but be aware that it has many plenty of bugs.

b) Before seeing whole quesitons+answers of pass4sure open exam engine and try a virtual exam and see that how much u scored? This is the real score of your study/mind level without using any dump.So you again start study and see that in which areas you are weak and how much you need more study. Then again do a virtual exam and at last you will get 1000/1000.So now its the time that you can hit the exam.

Note:- While performing your final step i mean during study of dumps/questions if you find any clarification you can ask us but we all will be more happy when you ask us for any topic which you cannot understand yet from books or video trainings etc instead of you dump(pass4sure , testinside etc)questions.

Cisco Newbie: Start On The CCNA

Want to start getting into routers etc so looking at doing some cisco stuff?

Think you need to start on the CCNA? but dont really know where or know of any real books that can teach you this from scratch? Here is a guideline for the Cisco newbies to start on the CCNA.

Q: Looking at doing some cisco stuff?

A: Cisco’s Career Certifications & Paths information can be found here.

Cisco also has a CCNA Prep Center — it might impress you, or it might scare you away — but worth a look to get an idea of what Cisco makes available.

http://www.cisco.com/go/prepcenter Only one comment on the prepCenter.

When watching the flash, dont take their word when they say that linux is an operating system.

One who says that linux is an OS, states that his knowledge of operating systems converging to zero (especially linux based).

Q: Don’t really know where or know of any real books that can teach you this from scratch.

A: The books you’ll hear the most about around here are:

Sybex - Cisco Certified Network Associate Study Guide — by Todd Lammle. Should be on the 5th edition. Great for learning subnetting. Missing some info, but there are one or two new update chapters available for download.

Cisco Press - The CCNA 640-802 books by Wendell Odom. Probably the CCNA Official Exam Certification Library.

You can check out all the Cisco Press Books (and the link to the simulator) at the Cisco Press Web site.

Hands-on practice is important…. but you can get by with the simulator for the CCNA.

Q: Are the exams expensive?

A: The CCNA 640-802 exam is $125.

There is also the 2 exam option (INTRO and ICND). There should be link at the CCNP Prep Center that explains it. I think those are $100 each.

That should be enough links to keep you busy for the rest of the night.

Why And How To Take CCNA

CCNA is the junior technician certificate authorized by Cisco, which is the world’s largest networking equipment company. CCNA is the basic of Cisco certification system. Everybody can take CCNA. No condition is limited. Of course, if you have some interest in the network, and know some about it, it is better.

If you take CCNA, what can you get from it?

You can get a job in network management and implementation ,or in optimize network performance. So you can become a network administrator or a systems integration engineer, and you can become a sales, too

If you decide to take CCNA, how can you do it?

There are two ways that you can go.

One is 640-802. It contains Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices Part 1
Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices Part 2.(640-802 Exam: Cisco Certified Network Associate)

The other is 640-821 INTRO and 640-816 ICND2. 640-821 INTRO is Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices Part 1. And 640-816 ICND2 is Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices Part 2.

Now , you have known what you need to do. I think maybe you need some help at this time. You can visit www.exam4sure.com, and get some help from the live support.

You can first download the free demo.

Analysis On CCNA Exam 640-802

Objectives by using Access control lists using:

1. limit network traffic and improve performance of network. For example, queue technology, not only limits the network traffic, and reduce the congestion.

2. to provide control means for communication flow. For example, can control a network flow which get through the router.

3. to provide a basic security means for visiting network. For example, in companies, access the staff of the financial department to computer servers of financial department but refuse the visit from other departments.

4. on the router interface, to decide whether transmit a certain flows or not. For example, you can allow to tranmit FTP communication flow, but refuse to transmit TELNET communication flow.

Working principles:

ACL provides two operations, all applications are working around these two operations: Access、deny

Note: ACL is a procedure in CISCO IOS and it has its own orders to implement teh command from administrators, its orders for implementation is from top to bottom, and as soon as it found the matching procedure, it will stop to search, if not yet found teh matching one, then implement a hidden code - discarded DENY. Therefore, you must pay attention to the sequencing in writing ACL.

For example: To deny flow from 172.16.1.0/24, write ACL form as following:

Access 172.16.0.0/18
Deny 172.16.1.0/24
Access 192.168.1.1/24
Deny 172.16.3.0/24

Well, the results will be contrary to the expectation, Lets check what will be happened after exchange the place of Table I and Table II:

Deny 172.16.1.0/24
Access 172.16.0.0/18
Access 192.168.1.1/24
Deny 172.16.3.0/24

We found 172.16.3.0/24 just the same as before, this table is still inactive, because the implementation found the matching when it reached  Table 2, so routers will access it, and is completely contrary to our requiement, then we need to move Table 4 to the front,
At last, it will be:

Deny 172.16.1.0/24
Deny 172.16.3.0/24
Access 172.16.0.0/18
Access 192.168.1.1/24

One can see that the ACL in the configuration of a rule: the more precise Table will be put to more forward, and the more general items on the table will be put later.

ACL is a collection of judgment statements, it is mainly used to control the following data:

1, inport data;
2, export data;
3, transmitted data by the routers.

Working Process:

1. regardless of whether the router has ACL or not, it’s the same method to deal with the received packet: When data enters to an entry, the  router will check it first to decide whether it could be routing, if not then discard it, on the contrary, to get the detailed routing Information by checking the routing table–including AD, METRIC…… and the corresponding interface;

2. then, we can assume that the data can be routing, and has successfully completed the first step, found the interface to send it out, at this time, the router will check whether this exit is assigned to ACL, if in the absence of ACL, then send it from this exit directly.

If the interface is in the ACL, then will be more trouble. The first case –the router will match this data to the ACL from top to bottom one by one, when found it matches one of the ACL, then process it according to the specified ACL operation (access or deny), and stop the searching; if still didnt find the matching till the end of the ACL, then discard this data packet using the hidden statement–deny any which is at the end of ACL.

For ACL, from the working principle point of view, it can be divided into two types:

1. entry ACL
2. exit ACL

The above interpretation for the working process is for the exit ACL. It is the match operation after the data packet routers entered the routing interface and made the routing selecting and found out the exit; while entry ACL refers to the match operation when the data enters the router interface, it reduced the table look-up process.

We can not say entry routing table is better than exit table becuase it omitted the routing process, it should be in accordance with the actual situation:

As the exhibit shows, adopted the basic ACL–Access Control aimed at the source.

Requirements are as follows:

1、Deny1.1.1.2Access3.1.1.2but permit5.1.1.2
2、Deny3.1.1.2Access1.1.1.2but permit5.1.1.2

Adopt the Basic ACL to control it
R1(config)#access-list 1 deny 1.1.1.2 0.0.0.255R1(config)#access-list 1 permit anyR1(config)#int e0R1(config-if)#access-group 1 inR2(config)#access-list 1 deny 3.1.1.2 0.0.0.255R2(config)#access-list 1 permit anyR2(config)#int e0R2(config-if)#access-group 1 in

From a command perspective, the distribution seems to be able to meet the conditions.

Assuming that there are data packets from 1.1.1.2 to 3.1.1.2 after entered the router interface E0, here adopts the entry table, then it needs not to check the routing table but match the ACL directly, if found expression access-list 1 deny 1. 1.1.2 0.0.0.255 reject the data packets, and discarded it; assuming that data packets from 3.1.1.2 to 1.1.1.2, ibid.

When 1.1.1.2 want to communicate with 5.1.1.2, the data packet will also be refused.

When 3.1.1.2 want to communicate with 5.1.1.2, the data packet will be refused too.

The ACL will only control the source, so no matter where it is, as long as meet the matching source, then take the operation.

How to solve this problem?

1. Put the source into the nearest position to the target, and adopt exit control.
2. Make ACL to control the target address.

The first solution will be well understood, because the standard ACL will only control the source, if you put it into the nearest position to the source, then it will cause unnecessary loss of data packets, usually we put the standard ACL into the nearest position to the target!

The second solution, it is necessary to control target addresses. Because standard ACL only against the source, so here, we can not adopt the standard ACL, but adopt the extended ACL. But it also has its disadvantages, it has o search for many data items, although the control is very precise, but the speed has been relatively slow down.

Simple Comparison of the following standard and expansion ACLs:

Standard ACL only controls the source;
Expansion ACL can control some kind of agreement, the source, target and the port number.

Can be seen from the command line:

Standard ACL:Router(config)#access-list list-number Expansion ACL:Router(config)#access-list list-number protocol source {source-mask destination destination-mask} [operator operand] [established] [log]
Protocol-an agreement to designate types, such as IP, TCP, UDP, ICMP and IGRP, etc.
Source and destination-source and purpose were used to label the source address and destination addresses
Source-mask and destination-mask-source and purpose of the wildcard mask
Operator operand-It, gt, eq, neq (were less than, greater than, equal to, not equal to) and a port number

Established - If the data packet has been constructed to a provide link (for example, with ACK Section), access the TCP information.

In order to avoid too many look-up table, so generally put the expansion ACL into the nearest position to the source.

After reading the above, then we can look at the following examples about CISCO Access Control Lists:

1、What are two reasons that a network administrator would use access lists? (Choose two.)

A:to control vty access into a router
B:to control broadcast traffic through a router
C:to filter traffic as it passes through a router
D:to filter traffic that originates from the routerE:to replace passwords as a line of defense against security incursions

Answers:  A, C

Note: The question mainly reviews the Cisco candidates on the understanding of ACL functions: the two reasons for network administrators to use ACL in the network?

Choice A pionts out a usage of CISCO visit List: by VTY line to visit the Router of Access Control.

ACL can not effectively control the broadcasting flow which goes through the router.
Choice C also pointed out one of ACL functions, to filter the flow  through the router.

Here we should pay attention to that only the “go through”  flow from the router can be controled by ACL, but the  flows of the router itself, such as update text of the routing, ACL will have not any role effect on it: because ACL will not filter the flow of the router itself, so D is also wrong;

2、For security reasons, the network administrator needs to prevent pings into the corporate networks from hosts outside the internetwork. Which protocol should be blocked with access control lists?

A: IP
B: ICMP
C: TCP
D: UDP

Answers:  B

Security reasons, network administrators want to prevent the external host to PING internal corporate networks from the Internet, which agreement must be blocked from the visit list? PING uses the ICMP agreement, in ACL, we need to define to allow or reject the flow of a certain agreements by ourselves. The correct answer is B.

3、Refer to the exhibit. The access list has been configured on the S0/0 interface of router RTB in the outbound direction. Which two packets, if routed to the interface, will be denied? (Choose two.)

access-list 101 deny tcp 192.168.15.32 0.0.0.15 any eq telnet
access-list 101 permit ip any any

A:source ip address: 192.168.15.5; destination port: 21
B:source ip address:, 192.168.15.37 destination port: 21
C:source ip address:, 192.168.15.41 destination port: 21
D:source ip address:, 192.168.15.36 destination port: 23E:source ip address: 192.168.15.46; destination port: 23

Correct Answers:  B, E

As the exhibit shows, configurate the visit list on RTB, to control the telnet flow launched by the 192.168.15.32/29 from the S0 / 0 away to the outside of the network, allowing other traffic through. Telnet uses the 23rd port, thus exclude the three choices A、B and C. The correct answers are D, E.

Introduction About CCNA Certification

Cisco Career Certifications are IT professional certifications for Cisco products. The tests are administered by Pearson VUE (Prometric previously administered the test; but as of 1 Aug 2007, no longer does). There are three levels of certification: Associate, Professional, and Expert.

Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

Candidates have the option of gaining the certification by passing two tests (ICND1 640-822 and ICND2 640-816), or one single test (CCNA 640-802); the two-test option has the advantage of allowing the candidate to focus on certain subjects.

The certification is valid for three years; at that time a CCNA holder must either: re-take the CCNA or ICND exam, or take and pass an exam for one of the Professional (e.g., CCNP) or Specialist level certifications (excluding the sales specialist exams), or pass the CCIE written exam.

These exams are known by their corresponding numbers. When the curriculum of the exam changes the exam number also changes. The current exam number for CCNA is 640-802 (from 15 Aug 2007). New ICND Part1 (640-822 ICND1) and ICND Part2 (640-816 ICND2) available from 15 Aug 2007. Part 1 by itself will give you a CCENT.

These exams are conducted by authorized test centers at a cost of $125 USD each for the ICND1 or ICND2 exams and $250 USD(The price was changed on 06.23.2008)[2] for the full CCNA exam.

There is also the Cisco Networking Academy, which brings the CCNA and CCNP curricula into traditional educational institutions in over 150 countries. Students enrolled in Cisco Networking Academy can request exam vouchers that allow them to take the retired exam for an extended period of time.
